Kickstarter Success!
Drumz Of The South: The Dubstep Years (2004-2007) Photobook is in production.
I am super pleased to say that thanks to a worldwide community of music, culture and history lovers, the total funds raised by my Kickstarter campaign stands at £26,246. A huge success!
530 backers across the globe meant that not only was the first goal reached, but also a £25k stretch goal, allowing me to print a few extra books, and give some away to community organisations, schools libraries etc!
The project also received lots and lots of media attention. Here are some links to some features:
The Independent: Photographing the birth of dubstep. Dubstep captured the sound of south London for a generation in the 2000s. In her new book, photographer Georgina Cook takes us back to the early days of grimy, smoky basements and cramped bedroom studios

Resident Advisor: Georgina Cook crowdfunds first photobook, Drumz Of The South: The Dubstep Years- The 220 page book will focus on London's dubstep scene between 2004 and 2007.
DJ Mag: 8 photobooks that capture electronic music's vibrant history. Electronic music's subcultures have been documented by a host of photographers and archivists in the last four decades, and some excellent photobooks have been released, each zeroing in on a different scene or aspect of music. Charlie Bird highlights some of the best
I’m now in the process of finalising the design of the book, and producing a mock-up; creating a pre-order page, so keep an eye out here for that, or sign-up to this mailing list for updates.
Big love, and thank you from the bottom of my South London heart, to everyone that is supporting the project.
Georgina
