Shit Show (WIP)

Both a project and exhibition, Shit Show unveils a narrative of early motherhood that is both personal and universal with works conceived and birthed largely within the walls of Georgina’s one-bed flat in Hastings.

At the heart of the project is Georgina’s Google Doc diary, which chronicles the ebbs and flows of life since the birth of her baby in 2023, alongside related inspiration and ideas. Through a myriad of creative expressions including film, installation, textiles and photography, she builds upon this diary, inviting viewers into our daily life and what she perceives as the messy, tender and often invisible complexities of motherhood.

This body of work also confronts the myth that motherhood and artistic pursuit are mutually exclusive. Instead, Georgina has embraced the chaos and found solace in the act of creation amidst the joy and the challenges of parenting, often needing to work speedily while the baby naps.
