"Calm Before Stormy." Talking about Youth Culture

In November, I was invited by Jerry Thackray / Everett True to talk about British youth culture in 2017 to American students. 

I gave a presentation titled “All Calm Before Stormzy,” talking about social media, mental health awareness, politics, feminism and accountability in today’s youth culture & other things. I also made a Youtube playlist (below), which takes you on a journey from early Grime to the present day and showcased work by Vicky Grout and Hannah Hill among others.

The class shared their thoughts on Grime & Multiculturalism. It was really interesting to hear American perspectives. “Grime is a positive music genre.”
