All of my GD4YA record label photography so far!

From Margate to Penge, via Croydon & Streatham Hill. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing my photography transformed into the record labels for GD4YA’s releases! Putting them together like this, you can really see what the art direction is all about! The photos are fairly close to those seen in my original Drumz of the South series which wasn’t just about dance-floors & DJs but the environment & the streets I walked around or that the music came from.

All except Wen’s release have been taken in South London. I particularly enjoyed being sent to Lambeth (my birth borough) for Benny Ill’s “Who, Me? / Acre Lane Skank” release where I spotted a brown pigeon flirting with a grey pigeon on a wall. Pigeons are to me such an iconic part of London - no matter where you go, there they are.

Check out GD4YA on Bandcamp - they’re really one of the best independent dance music labels around.
